On March 13, 2016, 25 students from Prairie High School will depart for their German study abroad trip. First stop: Munich. Our plans include Mike's Bike Tour, dinner at the Augustiner Keller, Dachau, many churches, the Olympic Park, the Residenz, and lots of food. After Munich, we will take a bus to Neuschwanstein Castle, the Wieskirche, and Schloß Linderhof. After a day of castles, we will go to meet our host families in the town of Münsingen. Each Prairie student will be adopted by their very own German host family. During the family stay, everyone gets to learn what it is like to truly be German. After the family stay, we have one last excursion. We will head to Rothenburg ob der Tauber which is a lovely little town left over from the middle ages. While there we will see the Heiligblutaltar in St. Jakob Kirche, tour the Kriminal Museum, and most likely go on a tour with the Night Watchman. All this while checking out the famous Kathe Wohlfart Christmas store, eating Schneebälle, and searching for amazing medieval souvenirs. Our last meal here in country will be our celebration dinner. The next morning we will get up in the middle of the night to begin our journey home.
